The standard motor in both these cars is a 2.0-liter 4-cylinder, but the Dodge engine has an extra 5 horsepower when compared to the Mazda. Dodge also offers a 1.4-liter turbo motor, tuned for fuel economy, which not only has that extra 5hp but 34 extra lb-ft of torque when compared to the base Mazda motor. The trunk on the Dodge has an extra .5 cubic feet of space inside for cargo, before folding down the back seat. Inside the passenger cabin, the Dart gives you a full cubic foot of extra space for people. Most of the Mazda3 and Dart dimensions are similar, but you get more shoulder room front and back in the Dodge for easier 3 across seating.
While both of these cars have excellent stereo systems, the Dodge has a standard CD player, which the Mazda doesn’t. You also get map lights and a height adjustable driver’s seat on the Dodge, but not the base model Mazda. The Dart also features standard delay-off headlights, LED brake lights and remote activated perimeter lights, which the Mazda doesn’t.
